Current Projects
Sierra Madre Villa Ave., Villa Knolls Dr., and Edgecliff Ln. Water Line Improvement Project
The District's largest active project will extend Vosburg-zone pressure to the Villa Highlands area through a new 12" ductile iron main and pressure regulating station, and replace all piping, hydrants and services on Edgecliff Lane — dramatically improving fire flow at the south end of the Brown-Glen zone.
Telemetry System Upgrade
With grant assistance from the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services (CalOES), the District is upgrading its SCADA (remote monitoring and control) system district-wide, with completion required by the end of 2026.
AMI Smart Meter Upgrade Project
The District implemented an AMI ("smart") metering system in 2022–2023, which reports consumption electronically and provides water use trends and alerts. In 2024, the District began upgrading to second-generation equipment and a new communications network, and the conversion of all original meter units is underway.
Meter Replacement Program
The District is replacing all aging water meters throughout the service area at a rate of approximately 100 meters per year until the program is complete, ensuring accurate measurement and reliable service for every connection.
